An Invocation for Change

The word “Ahvant” draws from the idea of calling forth — an invocation for transformation. Founded in 2023, the Ahvant Foundation for Net Zero Transformation works to accelerate decarbonisation across sectors and scales — from national energy policy and building codes to city-level planning, cooling systems, water management, and waste reduction.

The Foundation operates through specialised centres of practice, each addressing a critical dimension of the net-zero transformation. Our approach is rooted in implementation, not merely research: we train the workforce, shape the regulation, pilot the technology, and measure the result.

We work with government agencies, international organisations, industry, and research institutions — translating complex sustainability challenges into actionable, scalable solutions across South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Built on Twenty-Five Years of Expertise

Ahvant Foundation draws on more than twenty-five years of applied knowledge accumulated by Environmental Design Solutions (EDS), a global sustainability advisory. EDS experts have shaped national energy codes, delivered thousands of building-energy assessments, and advised governments across South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

This institutional heritage is not incidental — it is foundational. The technical depth, policy relationships, and practitioner networks that EDS has built over two decades are the bedrock on which Ahvant operates. The Foundation was established to extend this expertise into the public interest — as a not-for-profit vehicle for research, capacity building, and advocacy on a scale that a commercial advisory alone cannot achieve.
